Gabriola Island

Gabriola Island, only 20 minutes by ferry from Nanaimo, is refreshingly tranquil, beautiful and easygoing. Its historical link to the arts dates back to the First Nation Petroglyph carvings which can be found on the dramatic sandstone rock landscapes from which the island was formed.

Today visitors can wander amongst musicians, dancers, painters and sculptors whilst enjoying the vibrant galleries, private studios and spas. The island also provides modern day adventurers opportunities for hiking in the verdant forests, sea fishing for salmon and biking across the island exploring beautiful beaches and secluded coves.
